Tips for Postpartum Hair Loss

Updated: Jun 29, 2022

Postpartum hair loss. Another wonderful benefit to birthing a child. I lost a good bit of my hair after I had my second kid. I was using dark eye shadow to color in my balding head so I could still wear my hair up in public. I was going through so much eye shadow!! Something had to change. So I did some research and have tried out several things:

This stuff is amazing! It has so many benefits, including helping your hair to grow back. It also can help with skin elasticity, nail health, joint pain, and a lot of other things! (Google it if you want more!) I personally use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. I just put a scoop in my Shakeology every day. You can't even tell! You can add it to your coffee, hot chocolate, juice, basically any liquid. It just dissolves and doesn't have any flavor. So I highly recommend it! Click here to get it!

Like Collagen Powder, Biotin is great for your hair, skin, nails, etc. Super easy to take. You basically just swallow the supplement.... Not hard! The Spring Valley Biotin supplements are the ones I use. They work great and aren't too expensive. Get them here!

3- Wearing my hair in a different way. For a while, I took a break from the "mom bun" on top of my head. It was pulling my hair back and I wasn't giving it a chance to relax and be free. So I started just wearing my hair down and letting it dry naturally. It seems to have helped!

4- Eating healthier. Around the time that I noticed that I was basically balding, I signed up for Beachbody. I got the Ultimate Portion Fix program that taught me to eat healthier portions of healthier food. I truly believe that eating healthy foods has helped my hair to grow back. You don't need to purchase a nutrition program like I did, but just try to make healthier food choices.

So all of those things are the things that helped me. Hopefully these tips can help you too!
